An ultracompact model with no optical viewfinder in favor of a large 2.7″ LCD display, the Casio EXILIM EX-Z500 features a five megapixel CCD imager and 3x optical zoom lens with a 38 – 114mm equivalent focal range – pretty standard stuff for a compact point and shoot. Modern, clean lines with a minimum of protrusions should make this a pocket-friendly camera, and one that you won’t be embarrassed to show off in public. 😉
Other features of the Casio EX-Z500 include SD/MMC storage and 8.7MB of built-in memory, while power comes from a proprietary Lithium Ion battery. Casio says that the EX-Z500 is rated for 500 shots to CIPA standards, or 470 minutes of continuous playback. The Casio Z500 also comes with a bundled cradle offering USB 2.0 High-Speed and video output connectivity, as well as the functionality required to recharge the battery in-camera.
